Thanks so much! But I must admit I learned this craft from my art teacher Marij who makes these lamps for a living (her website www.droomwerelden.nl) - so props to her!

Btw: love your scarabs - do you sell 'm?

Thank you - so do you! You have great artwork. Espescially love "Strange" - it has a bit of a Erte style to it.

Before you say this, I don't knew anything about Erte. So thank you again - for the information.)))

Hi Silicium,
This music box is made from paperclay. Which essentialy is a mix of paper, glue, water and some binding agents. It's very easy to work with and dries up by air exposure. It's a form of air dry clay. There are several brands available, but I mostly use Darwi and Creall Do & Dry. When it's dried up I paint it with watercolours and acrylics.

Isn't this a bit like Papier Mache? are any of the ingredients clay or clay-like? just curious... thx, Peter.

Hi Peter, Essentialy the clay I use is vey much like papier mache. It consists mainly of paper, glue, salts and water and off course various additives of which I have no idea what they do. The brand I use is Creall do & dry which is a very cohesive clay, easy to work with, stays moist for a good while and dries up nice and strong. grtz, Barbara
